Graduate of Architecture with a Master’s degree in Science from the Institute of Architecture and Constructions of Alma – Atá, Republic of Kazakhstan, 1988.
In Cuba he has been Principal Architect and Projects Director at EMPROY-2 Project Company of the Ministry of Construction (1988 – 2010) and in ATRIO Company of Design and Engineering Services of the Ministry of Culture (2010 – 2016).
He has been Principal Architect in heritage and new rehabilitation works, designing Architecture, Interiors and Landscaping.
His professional performance covers 31 years dedicated to the design of architectural works for tourism programs, artistic education, heritage rehabilitation, among others.
His projects for the Remodeling of the National Hotel of Cuba, National Monument (1988 – 1992) (City Architecture Award for the Recovery of a Building 1998) have been recognized; of transformation of the International Pioneer Camp “26 de Julio” in Varadero to the Gran Hotel de Cubanacán S.A. (1993 – 1998) (MICONS Works Magazine Award); of rescue of the Hotel Telegrafo in the surroundings of the Central Park (1997 – 1998) (Prize of Architecture of the City to the Recovery of a Building 2003); for the rehabilitation of the National Art Schools ENA and ISA in Cubanacán, National Monument (1999 – 2010) (Gold Medal of the National Hall of Cuban Architecture 2008); rescue and adaptation project of the Sala White in Matanzas for the headquarters of the Symphony Orchestra (2003 – 2015); project of adaptation of the Mara cinema in Santos Suárez for the headquarters of the Spanish Ballet of Cuba (2013); among others.
He led the design and rehabilitation work of the residence for the outstanding dancer, choreographer and director Carlos Acosta in Siboney (2011-2016); as well as the adaptation of property in Calle Línea, in El Vedado for the headquarters of his company Acosta Danza (2015).
He has made architectural design collaborations for the Belize Sports Council in 2004, Belize; and for the Caribbean Maritime Institute in 2008, Kingston, Jamaica.
He has worked as an independent artist in collective projects of Architecture, Interior Design and Landscaping for hotels, hostels, shops, residences and private businesses in Havana.
He has served as an associate professor at the Design Department of the Faculty of Architecture at the Technological University of Havana CUJAE since 2007 and as a tutor of several diploma works.
He has participated in international events such as the International DOCOMOMO Conference in the Netherlands, 2008; and at the Academic Symposium “Havana – Los Angeles – Habana” organized by the SCI-Arc Southern Californian Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles, 2015.
He has received awards and recognitions for his projects in several Architecture Halls and national and international professional events.
In 2015 he created his Independent Design Studio U + D architecture in which he performed his current architectural design practice.
He is a member of UNAICC, ONDI, UNEAC.
He presides over the Architecture and Heritage Section of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba UNEAC.
