Deborah Desilets

    Deborah DeSilets is an artist, fashion designer, and architect in Miami, Florida, who has worked in Miami for 30 years. DeSilets moved from Tallahassee,  Florida to work with Arquitectonica, where she met Morris Lapidus. After their meeting, DeSilets became the protege of Morris Lapidus working as his last collaborator until the end of his fascinating career. She was the curator and associate involved in his receiving the Smithsonian National Design Award as an American Original. DeSilets has written four books on Morris Lapidus and UnderSthe brand the Morris Lapidus TM,  she has worked diligently to promote the legacy of Lapidus through product design, furniture design, and lectures.  In 2022, The Morris Lapidus Foundation was to undertake the teaching of his Miami-inspired works to others and repositing the legacy of Morris Lapidus, a man whom it was said,  ” would have died a martyr if had not lived long enough to be a hero”. Having saved his career from obscurity, while single-handedly spreading his teachings. This has been a large part of her 30-year career in Miami.
