It will be Springtime in Argentina and Uruguay with average temperatures ranging from 60.8˚F (16˚C) to 77˚F (25˚C).
Attire
We will have lengthy walking tours during the days. Comfortable shoes are a must!
Dress code for evening events can be found in the itinerary.
Money
You may exchange money upon arrival at the airport or hotel.
Credit cards are accepted in many places but it is always a good idea to arrive with cash and always have some cash on you.
Check the exchange rates here.
Health
Transportation:
Most transportation during the program is covered. However, if you decide to venture out on your own, it is good to know that public transportation is the most widely used and reliable mode of getting around. Taxis are inexpensive and easy to find (a good option if you want to take a break from walking tours and catch up with the group at a later time). Uber is not legal so if you opt for this route, you can expect your driver to ask you sit up front or maybe even ask you to pay cash.
Flights
Flights reserved for the early arrival package from Buenos Aires to Montevideo will be operated by Aerolineas Argentinas.
Travelers should arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure time.
Note that the flight will close one hour before the departure time.
- NOTE for Early Arrival / Pre-Congress: If flying from Buenos Aires to Mar del Plata, you may want to consider leaving larger luggage at your hotel in Buenos Aires and simply taking a carry-on (Carry-on included in price). If you prefer to take a shuttle, you may book it HERE.
Shuttles and Ferries
Can be booked via BUQUEBUS.
Electricity
In Argentina and Uruguay the standard voltage is 220 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. … If the standard voltage in your country is in the range of 100 V – 127 V (as is in the US, Canada and most South American countries), you need a voltage converter in Argentina and Uruguay. You can also consider a combined power plug adapter/voltage converter.
Donations
If you have any vintage articles to donate, we recommend supporting the retired actors who do community performances at Casa del Teatro! They will surely put your items to good use!
