Is Cuba safe?

Cuba is considered a safe country.  Most crimes are crimes of passion and theft.  Violent muggings are rare.  However, leaving your purse on the ground while you are dancing salsa would not be recommended!!!  While Cuba is considered a safe country, you must always stay smart and watch your stuff as you would anywhere else in the world.  Leaving your items on the bus during daily activities is recommended.  Leaving your valuables such as your passport, visa, license, etc. in the safe of your hotel for the entire duration of your trip is recommended.
