Fabio Grementieri

Architect specializing in conservation of heritage and architecture.

Historian trained at the University of Buenos Aires.

He conducted studies and research in various European and American countries on the architecture of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. He has participated in several international conferences on the subject, as well as the Program on Modern Heritage of the World Heritage Center of UNESCO. Organizer of several international meetings on heritage, he is coordinator of the Heritage Preservation Program of the Torcuato Di Tella University. He has published numerous articles in different media and given lectures in Argentina and abroad. Among his books are Great residences of Buenos Aires, Art Nouveau and Buenos Aires, Art Deco and Rationalism, in co-authorship with Mimi Böhm; Cultural and Natural Heritage, in co-authorship with Pablo Zunino; Germany-Argentina, The Modern Culture of Construction and Architecture, Education and Heritage– Argentina 1600-1975, in co-authorship with Claudia Shmidt. His work focuses on the re-evaluation, conservation and enhancement of real estate cultural heritage, having conducted seminars, consultancies, projects and works for public and private organizations, such as the Ministry of Culture of the Nation, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, the US Department of State, the Embassy of Brazil in Buenos Aires, the Getty Foundation, the World Monuments Fund of New York and Villa Ocampo (UNESCO). In 2009 he received the Henry Hope Reed Award, given by the Richard Driehaus Foundation of Chicago and the University of Notre Dame of Indiana, for his career in the field of heritage preservation. He is a member of the National Commission of Monuments, Places and Historical Heritage.

Luis Guevara

With almost 50 years of experience, Luis Guevara, Art Deco specialist, has just opened a third store in San Telmo.

The passion for the classics and the trained eye are inherited from his father, Francisco Luis Guevara, who embraced the profession in Mendoza in the 1960s.

As a child, Luis accompanied his father on business trips.  He devoting time to finding exquisite pieces of furniture and sculptures to resell.

Guevara specializes in Art Deco style. “I was intrigued because it brings together various art forms that converged between the twenties and thirties in Europe and America.  It is characterized by the designs, often exotic, straight lines and geometric shapes. Cubism, the Bauhaus, the art of Egypt, Africa, East and America together in this movement which became the undisputed symbol of glamor that marked an era, ” says Luis.

The opening of the newest premises was carried out in accordance with the launch of the World Congress of Art Deco.

Sculptor, painter and graphic designer, he is founder and secretary of AANBA and of the Argentina Route and Pan American Art Nouveau with 9 cities. Researcher and librarian of AANBA in Art Nouveau and Art Deco, he carried out the search and selection of the building and decorative arts patrimony for Cultural tourist route mentioned.

Marcelo Nouges

Born in Buenos Aires on April 24, 1958.

Architect of the University of Belgrano promotion 1983.

Head of the architecture studio Marcelo Nougués Arquitectos.

Specializes in residential architecture and high standard remodeling.

Obtained a scholarship by the Smithsonian Institution in 1985 for research at the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York.

From that scholarship he specialized in the investigation of the history of architecture and decoration of the twentieth century with special interest in the period between the wars (1918-1939), formed during 30 years a large archive of photographs from this era.

Works in restoration of buildings of heritage value, focused on the neoclassical period and Art Deco.

Designer and curator of the various Antiques Fair held at the Palais de Glace.

Participated in several editions of Casa Foa and currently collaborates as a columnist in several design and decoration magazines.

Collector and researcher of the history of the great transatlantic ships of the 20th century.  Is currently collecting data on the emblematic ships that arrived at the port of Buenos Aires in the last century.

Ana Ramos

Director and Founder of the Cultural Center of Salamone.  Her objective is to promote the management of the enhancement and refunctionalization of the slaughterhouse Model abandoned by Engineer / Architect, Francisco Salamone. In 2015, after its inauguration, it became the Civil Association Cultural Center Salamone, which by municipal agreement establishes its headquarters therein.  It is a wide-ranging institution that works based on cultural heritage development identity from the Area of Study, Research and Heritage, being a historical – architectural space of social, educational and tourism meeting of relevance to the town and the province.

Willy Rey

Architect since 1992 – Faculty of Architecture (UdelaR) In 2006, he achieved the Magister in instruments for the assessment and management of the artistic heritage artistic from the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville, Spain. Together with the architect Nicolás Barriola and the photographer Marcos Mendizábal, he founded the BMR cultural producer in Uruguay, while writing the book Tu Patrimonio, a survey on a selection of heritage architecture throughout the country. He is the author of different works on the history of Uruguayan and Latin American architecture. Several of his articles can be found in university publications in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Belgium, Spain, Mexico, the result of various investigations in the fields of urban history, architecture and cultural heritage. Since 1992 he has participated in multiple national and international scientific meetings, such as congresses, symposiums and seminars, developing papers and conferences on the theme of Heritage and Art History.

Nicolas Barriola

Architect of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, he has worked in the re-functionalization of heritage buildings since 1995. In 2010, he founded the BMR Cultural Production Company, a content agency led by the architect William Rey Ashfield, photographer Marcos Mendizábal, and accountant Martín Colombo.
