Yan Luis BergarecheArtist

Yanluis Bergareche was born on December 21, 1978 in the City of Havana. He started his studies at the Camilo Cienfuegos Elementary School. Later he studied at the Juan Basic High School Noyola and the Peasant Workers College. He began to be interested in the world of plastic arts and that is when he began to study in various painting and sculpture workshops including at the National School of Arts plastic in Cuba San Alejandro although he did not get to register officially.

At a very early age, Bergareche got into the environmental problem and began to develop an extensive and unique series of works called: The Great Garden. A series of works that stem from a personal interest in naturalistic and / or ecological issues. These works that are formally related with a tendency to abstract expressionism suppose a attempt to reflect developing biological processes (decomposition or evolution of all natural elements that make up our planet, that is, the Biosphere).”The Great Garden is therefore a conglomerate of works, where the biomorphic aspect is  imprecise and are debated in a dialectic of negation within an exuberant universe, without specify to the viewer if the artist’s intention is to show us an always full panorama both life and death.
