Friday night at exhibit opening at The Copper was very well received. Many in attendance were deeply moved by the fascinating—and sometimes misunderstood—art of outsider artists. The exhibit, titled “No Seasoning,” curated by Elvia Rosa Castro, features seven Afro-Cuban descendant artists and touches on sensitive issues associate with these artists . We look forward to future programming during the exhibit’s run, which will continue over the next several weeks.

The preview night of “No Seasoning” at The Copper, in partnership with the Association of Haitian Educators of Dade County (AHED), was incredible. Over 150 educators, parents, and students joined us. We also had the honor of welcoming three district council members from North Miami: Mary Estime- Irvin District 3, Kevin Burns District 1 and Pierre F Charles District 3 and FIU’s Meme Ferre from the Maurice Ferre Institute on Civic Leadership and Agatha Caraballo in attendance. It was truly a special evening!

It’s tonight.

No Seasoning opens this evening at Copperbridge Foundation — and it is already part of South Florida’s cultural conversation with a review by Miguel Sirgado in Artburst.

When a platform like Artburst takes notice, we know that what is happening here in North Miami is resonating beyond our walls.

Join us tonight,
February 27 | 7:00 PM
Copperbridge Foundation
12500 NE 4th Ave, North Miami

Come experience the exhibition.

From Copperbridge Foundation, we invite you to join us in celebrating 100 years of the cities that shaped South Florida.

Centennial Stories: Honoring 100 Years of South Florida Cities

📆 Wednesday, February 26, 2026
⏱️ 6:00 PM
📍 Opa-locka Historic City Hall
777 Sharazad Blvd, Opa-locka, FL

We are proud to take part in this historic conversation honoring the centennial anniversaries of Miami Shores, Opa-locka, Coral Gables, North Miami, Miami Springs, and Hialeah — communities born during the 1920s land boom that continue to define our architectural and cultural identity.

Moderated by Hank Tester (CBS Miami), with opening remarks by Christine Rupp, Executive Director of Dade Heritage Trust.
Panelists include Alex Van Mecl, John Bachay, Ken Wilde, Karelia Carbonell, Jeffrey Saadeh, and Geo Darder representing Copperbridge Foundation and the North Miami Centennial Committee.

The celebration continues with us in North Miami:

Open House at Copperbridge Foundation

📆 Sunday, March 1, 2026
⏱️ 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM
📍 12500 NE 4th Ave, North Miami, FL

Experience the exhibition No Seasoning, a presentation on the history of Griffing Estates by Councilman Kevin Burns (District 1), and an introduction to the Copper Arts Hub Project — our vision for a vibrant cultural center with academic spaces and artist studios.

Brunch, networking, and a guided walking tour of historic Griffing Estates will conclude the day.

Reserve your seat today — registration link in our bio.

At Copperbridge, we believe preserving history is also a way of shaping the future.

A century of architecture. A legacy of resilience. A future rooted in culture and community.
