“Nani & Tati”

Winner of Best Fiction and Best Soundtrack Design in 2013 by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), “Nani & Tati” tells a stormy relationship between two ailing sisters that desperately need each other’s help but their unyielding rivalry in validating whose pain is worse makes it impossible for either character to empathize. This 20-minute film is presented in Spanish with English subtitles.

“Miénteme bien, Jackie Chang (Be a Good Liar, Jackie Chang)”

The first story of a Chinatown Havana trilogy, “Miénteme Bien, Jackie Chang” is a nonverbal 12-minute film about a meticulous man who invites a beautiful woman to his home for a romantic evening, but his plans change when he realizes the woman’s imperfections are far from what he had hoped for. “Miénteme Bien, Jackie Chang” won Best Fiction, Best Sound Design, and Best Editing in 2014 by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC). It was also awarded Best Short Film in 2014 by the Association of Cinematographic Press Cuba and has screened at the Trinidad and Tobago International Film Festival, the New England Festival of Iberoamerican Cinema, as well as competed for Best Short Film at the Havana Film Festival.
